Pension co-funding program: government doubles 2016 contributions of program participants
Participants in the state pension co-funding program credited 5.7 billion rubles of voluntary contributions to their accounts last year. The government contributed 5.5 billion rubles to the program in May 2017.
The total volume of co-funding is always smaller than overall contributions, as some program participants contribute either less than 2,000 rubles or more than 12,000 rubles, and only contributions varying from 2,000 to 12,000 rubles are co-funded.
Pension Fund expanding e-services
The personal account section of the Russian Pension Fund’s website is now offering an opportunity to file for a federal social pension supplement. The service is on a trial run in a number of PFR offices.
Please be advised that all non-working pensioners whose total income falls short the pensioner’s subsistence minimum of the home region are entitled to a federal or regional social supplement, which raised the pension to the regional pensioner’s subsistence minimum.
4.5 mln Russian families improve their homes thanks to maternity capital
Maternity capital has helped 4.5 million Russian families improve their living conditions. As many as 2.9 million families repaid their mortgage loans with maternity capital either fully or partially, and another 1.6 million families had their homes improved without loans.
PFR increases pension savings of Russians by 2.97 billion rubles in 2016
The Russian Pension Fund gained a total of 2.97 billion rubles on pension savings deposited in 2016, with an average annual profitability of 10.58%. The 2016 inflation stood at 5.4% in Russia.

State pensions, including social pensions, grew by 1.5% on April 1, 2017, to an average of 8,742 rubles (102.4% of the pensioner’s subsistence minimum). An average social pension of children with disabilities and people with lifelong disabilities of the 1st group amounted to 13,241 rubles this year.

An average social pension of children with disabilities and 1st group persons with lifelong disabilities stands at 13,241 rubles.
Pension Fund presents mobile application
The Russian Pension Fund has presented a mobile application for easier access to the individual PFR account status and verification of insurance contributions paid by the employer; it will also be possible to make an appointment and to file a request for necessary documents by means of the application.
The free PFR application for iOS and Android enables users of mobile devices to access key functions available at one’s personal account on the PFR website.
The application may be used to check the status of one’s PFR account, i.e. the accumulated pension points and record; the assigned pension or social benefit; the size of maternity capital; and history of requests filed with PFR.
Federal Register of Persons with Disabilities receives citizen data in real-time mode
Starting January 2017, data concerning disabilities and individual rehabilitation and abilitation programs for persons with disabilities is transferred to the Federal Register of Persons with Disabilities database in the real-time mode.
Information System on Social Protection signed into action
Russia’s Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed the resolution launching the Single State Information System of Social Security (SISS). The document approves provisions of the system, defines its structure and the sources of information it provides, as well as the procedure of information provision.
Maternity capital turns 10 years!
Precisely ten years ago – at the beginning of 2007 – Russia’s Pension Fund issued its first state maternity capital certificates. Since then, the maternity capital amount has grown from 250 to 453 thousand rubles.
