The Top 10 active regions of 2020 are:

The Republic of Tatarstan — 805 participants (18.13%);

The Voronezh region — 557 participants (12.54%);

The Orenburg region — 281 participants (6.33%);

The Moscow region — 267 participants (6.01%);

The Ulyanovsk region — 176 participants (3.96%);

The Saratov region — 173 participants (3.90%);

The Tyumen region — 166 participants (3.74%);

The Rostov region — 49 participants (3.36%);

The Kemerovo region — 145 participants (3.27%);

The Krasnoyarsk Territory — 134 participants (3.02%).

More than 4,600 applications were filed for the 2020 contest from 77 regions. Notably, 84% of projects were presented by residents of medium-sized and small towns and rural areas.

An average age of participants was 63.4; seven contestants were older than 90, and the two most senior participants were 97.

Sixty percent of projects were presented by pensioners trained in specialized courses, and 40% of pensioners trained themselves, in particular, using the Internet ABC program. Compared to the previous years, the number of people who master computer user skills on their own is constantly growing: the share stood at 37.5% in 2019, as against 32.8% in 2018, and 31% in 2017.

Users of the Public Services portal constituted 91.3% of the contestants in 2020, compared to 84.4% in 2019. The reason is not just the coronavirus-related self-isolation and the need to address as many issues from home as possible but also the general rise in computer awareness of Russian pensioners and the convenience of available services.
