The Social Fund has approved the payment of a unified benefit for more than 200,000 children in the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics, as well as the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Additionally, over 3,800 pregnant women residing in the new Russian regions are receiving funds.
Most citizens apply for the benefit through the State Services portal, which accounts for nearly 75% of all applications. The remaining families have submitted their applications at Social Fund branches opened in the new territories this year or at multifunctional centers (MFCs).
Residents of the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics, as well as the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions may also apply for the benefit outside their home regions. However, both the children and the parent submitting the application should be Russian citizens.
To date, the unified benefit is being paid to parents of nearly 8.4 million children. The benefit is available for each child under the age of 17, as well as for women expecting a baby. When processing applications, the family's financial situation is taken into account.
