Social Fund Issued First Payments to Residents of Avdeevka

Employees of the Social Fund have begun processing payments for residents of the liberated city of Avdeevka. The first recipient of support measures was a local resident who received an insurance payment on March 1 due to an industrial accident.

The man was injured in 1995 while working at a train depot in the city of Yasinovataya. Following the incident, he was granted compensation for health damage under local regulations. Now, the Social Fund has assigned the corresponding payment under Russian legislation. As a reminder, in cases of occupational injury or disease, Russian citizens are entitled to temporary disability benefits. If the medical and social assessment agency determines a degree of loss of professional working capacity, the Social Fund provides both a lump-sum and monthly insurance payments.

Currently, residents of Avdeevka are being evacuated from the destroyed city to temporary accommodation centers in other localities of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). There, individuals have the opportunity to contact specialists from the Social Fund's client services to apply for support measures under Russian law. At present, several residents have already been assigned Russian old-age and disability pensions, and applications for monthly cash payments have been accepted. Around 22 people have submitted requests to resume their DPR regional pensions.

The Social Fund began processing payments in Russia's new constituent entities in March 2023. Over the past year, specialists have assigned various pensions, benefits, and other support measures to more than 2.5 million residents. Among them are over 231,500 veterans, persons with disabilities, and other beneficiaries receiving monthly cash payments. Additionally, in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, as well as the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, the Social Fund is paying a unified benefit to parents of 268,700 children and 6,600 pregnant women.
