The Social Fund of Russia organized the evacuation of 20,000 pension files from the city of Kakhovka in the Kherson region to a safe location. The documents had been stored in archives located in close proximity to the combat zone, which had prevented specialists from accessing them. Now, residents of Kakhovka and surrounding areas will be able to receive pensions and social benefits.
Thanks to the support of the Kakhovka administration and local businesses, the pension documents of district residents were delivered to a secure location in the city of Henichesk. Specialists from the Social Fund will soon begin working with the received documents to recalculate pensions for local residents in accordance with Russian legislation. As a result, thousands of pensioners will be able to receive higher payments that take into account their full employment history.
"Residents of the Kherson region who have remained in their hometowns are experiencing financial hardship and are especially in need of support," noted Sergey Chirkov, Chairman of the Social Fund. "Our specialists are working to promptly recalculate pensions according to Russian standards so that no resident of Kherson is left without the benefits they are entitled to." According to the head of the Fund, the document delivery operation is an important step toward properly recognizing all pension rights of residents of the Kakhovka Municipal District.
