Sergey Chirkov: about 800 victims of workplace incidents received automobiles from the Social Fund since the start of 2025

From January to now, the Social Fund provided 798 victims of workplace incidents with specialized cars. Another 500 vehicles are to be handed over before the year's end, Sergey Chirkov, Chairman of the Social Fund, revealed during his visit to Bryansk Region.

"All individuals who received cars were legally employed at the time of their incident, which guaranteed their social benefits," Mr. Chirkov said. Legal employment is the only thing that entitles you to the full range of support, including specialized vehicles."

According to Head of the Fund, the effort to re-examine the victims is underway in the new territories, with 63 individuals already receiving their cars.

"It is important for us to not just follow the law, but give people who had to face hardship in life real support," Mr. Chirkov said.

That insurance plan is part of the comprehensive medical, social and professional rehabilitation for victims of workplace incidents. Cars as a technical means of rehabilitation are provided in the context of the recovery program designed by the medical and social assessment agency. They are paid for by the mandatory workplace incident insurance contributions.

In most cases, the cars in questions are Lada Granta or Lada Vesta with manual or automatic transmission, outfitted with specialized control systems to fit each driver's needs. Cars are produced and delivered to the Social Fund offices by AvtoVAZ.

Last year, various car modifications were provided to 1,800 incident victims, including 17 in Bryansk Region.

On top of providing transportation, the Social Fund repays some of the fuel and maintenance costs. Ro recoup the operating costs, the car owner has to submit an application through the Gosuslugi Portal or one of the Fund's offices.

The Social Fund also provides victims of workplace incidents with technical means of rehabilitation, drugs, resort treatment and rehabilitation, specialized care allowance, professional training and insurance payments.
