The agreement between the Fund and the regional government was signed today at the meeting between Sergey Chirkov and the regional governor Aleksandr Bogomaz in Bryansk, the place of Mr. Chirkov's work visit.
Agreements between the Fund and the regional authorities cover a number of social policies in Bryansk Region, including ensuring social support, pensions and insurance payments for locals. They also envision development of social adaptation projects for seniors, help for servicemen participating in the special military operation and families with children.
"Every year, the Social Fund launches new initiatives for private individuals and organizations. The Fund is expanding many of its functions, so this agreement is going to help with that significantly. The Fund's plans include expanding support for servicemen participating in the special military operation, providing new assistance for Russian families, as well as continuing the project to establish communication centers for seniors," Sergey Chirkov said when signing the agreement.
Interactions aimed to ensure support for servicemen participating in the special military operation and their families were cited as an example of successful cooperation between the Fund and the regional authorities. Mr. Chirkov expressed gratitude to Mr. Bogomaz for his close focus on payment and social benefit due to citizens and appreciation for the support the region provides to veterans of the special military operation.
"The Social Fund's Bryansk office is an advanced one; it is a competence center that covers a great number of services. We value our cooperation highly and are prepared to become a trusted partner for Bryansk Region," emphasized Head of the Social Fund.
Governor Bogomaz, in turn, thanked Mr. Chirkov for the high praise he had given to the efforts of the Bryansk regional Administration focused on providing the SMO veterans and their families with assistance which is rated among the best in the country, according to the Governor.
"We offer servicemen participating in the special military operation and their families, as well as other combat veterans, 31 regional support measures," Mr. Bogomaz said. "A one-of-a-kind initiative that no other region offers is life-long monthly payments to mothers, fathers and widows of killed servicemen. Its amount for this year is RUB 56,014, next year it will be RUB 64,000".
After the meeting with the Governor, Sergey Chirkov also met SMO veterans that had received treatment and rehabilitation in the Social Fund's health centers. They discussed prosthetics, availability of healthcare services, pensions and social benefits, as well as issues related to securing the disability status. Head of the Social Fund pointed out that the staff of the Fund and its rehabilitation centers keep in constant contact with veterans in order to provide them with the most up-to-date information on the benefits they are entitled to and the ways to get them.
Another important event for the Bryansk regional center was the launch of a communication center for seniors. There are already over 900 such centers in Russia. The Social Fund is especially focused on supporting our elderly compatriots.
Mr. Chirkov also visited the Social Fund office in Bryansk to discuss various pressing operational issues with the staff.
