Since the start of the year, the Social Fund has reimbursed SMO veterans RUB 187 million for travel to rehabilitation centers and back. 11,000 former servicemen received their payments. Travel expenses for virtually all modes of transportation are reimbursed: rail, air, motor road, etc.
The Social Fund's rehabilitation centers have been treating SMO veterans since 2025. There, former servicemen can get resort treatment and medical rehabilitation. SMO servicemen chose the convenient time for travel, while the centers' staff provide them with personalized assistance. 16,700 former SMO servicemen have already received treatment in the Social Fund's rehabilitation centers. Medical rehabilitation was provided to over 1,000 former servicemen, resort treatment – to 15,600.
In order to make rehabilitation and health resort treatment services more accessible for special military operation veterans, we provided for the reimbursement of their travel expenses to the rehabilitation center and back. An application with travel documents attached is required to receive a refund. Starting from 2026, we plan to finance travel of former SMO servicemen to the Social Fund's centers and back by providing travel documents, in addition to refunding costs.
