At today's upper chamber meeting, senators reviewed the Fund's draft income and expenses for the next year and approved the proposed budget parameters.
Presenting the document at the Federation Council meeting, Sergey Chirkov, Chairman of the Social Fund, pointed out: "The Fund's budget is balanced and fully covers all pension and social rights of Russian citizens.
The Social Fund's expenses in the next year will tally to RUB 18.7 trillion. That is +10.3% compared to the current year. Pensions will take up the largest portion of that amount. RUB 11.9 trillion will go toward insurance pensions, while over RUB 904 billion will be disbursed to cover government-funded pensions.
Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko praised the submitted draft budget of the Social Fund. "Not a single [social support] item has been cut down or not increased. When we say 'family values,' it is not just talk, it is backed up by numbers. Thank you for this positive report; it lifts the spirit and the mood," Ms. Matviyenko said, addressing Sergey Chirkov.
Next year, the Social Fund plans to allocate more than RUB 2.5 trillion for the protection of families and children, RUB 165.1 billion more than the approved expenditures for the current year. The maternity capital amount will be RUB 737,200 per one child and RUB 974,200 for two children. The unified allowance payments for parents and mothers-to-be are planned at RUB 1.7 trillion.
