Social Fund to pay January pensions ahead of time

With New Year holidays approaching, most retirees in Russia will receive their January pensions ahead of schedule. The pre-New Year payment, in particular, will cover those whose bank transfers fall on the winter break. Post offices will deliver pensions to retirees in January as per their regular schedules.

Retirees will get their January pensions on their accounts by December 30. Everyone who usually receives their pension from the 1st to the 11th day of each month will get their money by that date, since the corresponding days in January will be public holidays. After the New Year break, the standard bank pension delivery schedule will resume.

Notably, all types of pensions will be paid early, including insurance, social, contributory, age and disability related. If the Social Fund pays other benefits together with the pension, those benefits will also arrive early. The process is automated, so retirees do not have to apply to receive their payments.

January pensions will arrive early and adjusted. Remember that next month, pensions will increase by 7.6%, which is above the inflation rate.

Retirees opting to receive their pensions via the Russian Post will do so on their usual dates. Postal workers will start home deliveries on January 3, along with post office cashier's desks, which retirees are also welcome to get their pensions from. Post deliveries will last till January 25.

You can get more details regarding the payment of pensions before the New Year and during the January holidays from banks and Russian Post offices.
