Social Fund of Russia recalculated pension for 400,000 mothers of large families

The Social Fund of Russia continues its ambitious effort to increase pensions for mothers who have raised five or more children. Pensions for 400,000 women have been adjusted to date. This is a high priority effort that is being carried out even on holidays.

The adjustment is based on the provisions of the new law that came into force on January 1, with the main portion of the adjusted pensions being the result of proactive work by the fund's staff.

"We have done extensive, painstaking work. Based on available records, staff members in the Social Fund branches across the country compiled lists of mothers of large families who are entitled to have their pensions adjusted up. Those women were contacted remotely, given detailed explanations of the changes, and their consent for the recalculation was obtained. Thanks to this mechanism, hundreds of thousands of women did not have to apply to the Fund in person," said Sergey Chirkov, Chairman of the Social Fund of Russia.

Remember that women who have not yet given their consent for the recalculation or have not applied for it themselves can do so through their personal account on the Gosuslugi Portal or at a Social Fund client office. For those who retire after January 1, 2026, all periods will be credited automatically.
