Amendments regarding welfare payments and benefits for Russians entered into force in January. To enable citizens to take advantage of the new opportunities from the very first days of the new year, the Social Fund was accepting and processing incoming applications during the winter holidays.
As a result, from January 1 to January 10, 2026, Social Fund staff members made decisions on more than 210,000 requests for various payouts, benefits, rehabilitation and services In parallel, citizens received over 2 million information services, such as certificates, statements and up-to-date records.
The largest number of applications is traditionally related to the unified allowance for families with children and mothers-to-be. During the holidays alone, the Social Fund branches reviewed more than 166,000 applications submitted through the Gosuslugi Portal. They worked fast, with around fifty thousand requests already processed during the first days of the winter break.
Support for the servicemen of the special military operation is a point of special focus. Staff have already accepted this year's first 123 applications from veterans for medical rehabilitation and resort treatment at the Social Fund's centers. 115 veterans have already started their treatment; 47 of them were provided with travel tickets to the centers and back: a new travel payment option introduced in January.
As a reminder, on January 5, Social Fund client offices operated in all regions of the country, making it possible to resolve 14,699 pressing issues for citizens.
