Holders of the Resident of Stalingrad under Siege badge are entitled to higher pensions and welfare payments. On top of the primary pension, the age-related insurance one, holders of the badge are entitled to a state pension, which the Social Fund assigns in the event of a disability. Siege survivors also receive a monthly allowance under the federal law on veterans and additional payouts under a presidential decree.
Taking all these payments into account, the average income of the residents of besieged Stalingrad reached RUB 54,500/month by the end of last year. Thanks to the adjustments, pensions and supplements paid to decorated veterans grew by RUB 6,500 on average in 2025. In January 2026, insurance pensions have been adjusted by 7.6%, also increasing the payouts to decorated individuals. The monthly allowance for veterans went up on February 1.
In 2023, residents of besieged Stalingrad were granted the status of Great Patriotic War veterans, granting them benefits and welfare support equal to those awarded to holders of the Resident of Leningrad under Siege and Resident of Sevastopol under Siege badges.
The status of veterans of the Great Patriotic War gave residents of besieged Stalingrad the right to a monthly allowance of RUB 4,800 (as of today), and a social service package that includes free medicines, medical devices, free suburban train travel and resort treatment. This new category of veterans is also eligible for an additional provision of RUB 500/month and pension entitlements such as the right to receive two pensions at once in the event of a disability.
