Head of the Social Fund, Sergey Chirkov, went to the Chuvash Republic with a working visit. During the visit, he attended a series of meetings and events focused on developing welfare for the residents of the region.
The key event was his meeting with the Head of Chuvashia, Oleg Nikolaev. The parties signed a cooperation agreement that will outline their joint efforts across a wide range of social policy areas.
Pension coverage, state guarantees and welfare benefits for the residents of the republic, including new welfare projects were all points of special focus at the meeting.
In the course of his visit, Sergey Chirkov also took part in an official ceremony where keys to a new car were handed to a Chuvash resident who had suffered a workplace injury. The vehicle was adapted to accommodate the person's individual needs and provided under accident insurance. In total, the Social Fund issued cars to 1,400 victims of industrial incidents over the past year.
Sergey Chirkov also visited a flagship client office of the Social Fund in Cheboksary. 57 such offices are already functioning in a number of regions, including the Republic of Chuvashia. Their key feature is the focus on digital services. There, with consultants' support, clients can independently receive services on a wide range of issues: from payouts and allowances to the preparation, processing, and assignment of pensions.
Special attention is given to supporting SMO servicemen. Sergey Chirkov had a meeting with veterans of the special military operation and Elena Zaitseva, head of the Chuvash branch of the Defenders of the Fatherland foundation. The issues related to assignment of pensions and welfare benefits, rehabilitation at the Social Fund's centers, and provision of rehabilitation equipment were discussed. Sergey Chirkov emphasized that the Fund works with the fighters in a systemic manner and maintains constant contact with them.
Ahead of the International Women's Day, Mr. Chirkov met wives and relatives of SMO servicemen. Olga Vladimirova, head of the Chuvash regional branch of the Committee of Families of Soldiers of the Fatherland, joined the conversation pertaining to the pressing issues faced by families of servicemen. As a sign of gratitude for the care shown to the families, the widow of a deceased SMO fighter presented Sergey Chirkov with a hand-knitted scarf featuring the Social Fund's symbols.
