Social Fund to proactively adjust government pensions on April 1

The Social Fund will proactively adjust government pensions, including social pensions, which are adjusted annually in April. Russians won't have to petition or submit any applications. The higher payouts will arrive as per the usual delivery schedule. The adjustment rate is based on the growth of the retiree's subsistence rate over the past year and will amount to 6.8%.

"The Social Fund's information system makes the adjustment process truly application-free, swift and requiring no input from the citizens themselves," said Sergey Chirkov, Chairman of the Social Fund. "As a result, retirees receive their payments within their usual timeframes, but in a higher amount. The adjustment is centralized, ensuring that it is not only convenient, but also reaches everyone who is entitled to it."

Most retirees whose pensions will be adjusted in April, get the benefits due to disability or loss of a breadwinner. Pensions for Great Patriotic War participants and those awarded the Resident of Leningrad under Siege, Resident of Sevastopol under Siege and Resident of Stalingrad under Siege badges will also be adjusted. The adjustment also covers conscripted servicemen, victims of radiation, test pilots and certain other categories of retirees.

As a result, the average social pension will increase by over RUB 1,000, to RUB 16,500. The average social pension for disabled children will grow by RUB 1,600, up to RUB 24,500. For individuals disabled from childhood, Group I, the monthly pension will increase by RUB 1,600 and will stand at RUB 25,400. The actual exact amount for each recipient will depend on their individual pension size.

The adjusted payments will be delivered to retirees in April as per the usual delivery schedule.

Starting April 1, the Social Fund will also increase the caregiver allowance for individuals who have reached 80 years of age and disabled individuals Group I. Following the adjustment, the allowance will grow to RUB 1,500. The Social Fund automatically adds the caregiver supplement to a pension and also automatically increases it on adjustment. No additional actions are required from retirees or their caregivers.
