Social Fund proactively adjusted pensions to about 4 million people

The Social Fund proactively increased government pensions, including social pensions, which are adjusted annually in April. Retirees did not have to petition or submit any applications. The adjustment rate was based on the growth of the retirees' subsistence rate over the past year and amounted to 6.8%.

"The Social Fund is giving another benefit hike this year, affecting around 4 million retirees, including 3.5 million recipients of social pensions assigned to disabled individuals, disabled children and children who have lost a parent. It will also cover certain Great Patriotic War participants, including residents of besieged Leningrad, Sevastopol and Stalingrad. Like all similar hikes, it is application-free, with no need for retirees to apply. Pensions will arrive for all recipients in April within their usual timeframes, but in a higher amount," said Sergey Chirkov, Chairman of the Social Fund of Russia.

Starting April, the Social Fund will also increase the caregiver allowance added to pensions for individuals who have reached 80 years of age and disabled individuals Group I. The Social Fund automatically adds the supplement to a pension and also automatically increases it on adjustment. No additional actions are required from retirees or their caregivers.

The actual amount of the adjusted supplement for each retiree will depend on their individual payout sum. There will be no pension delivery changes due to the adjustment. New adjusted amounts will arrive for retirees in April, as usual.
