The 19th webinar for teachers and coordinators of computer literacy courses for retirees under the Internet Alphabet program took place in Russia. The event was attended by representatives of the Social Fund's Communication Centers for Seniors, social service centers, education institutions, libraries and various public organizations – totaling more than 2,000 people from 67 regions of Russia.
The webinar participants received detailed recommendations on how to structure a training program, discussed practical approaches to adapting advanced Internet Alphabet courses to suit the interests of different audiences, and explored ways to effectively utilize visual aids. The webinar materials are posted on the project website and in its official VK community.
As a reminder, Internet Alphabet is a joint project of Rostelecom and the Social Fund of Russia to train retirees in computer literacy. Its goal is to facilitate elderly people's access to state services in electronic form and to improve their quality of life by mastering computer literacy and handling the internet.
Last year alone, nearly 50,000 people participated in the project. More than 10,000 users downloaded and are actively applying the program's aids. Its VK community has 2,500+ members who regularly share their experience and results of their work with retirees.
