At the recent Popular Front Forum, the Social Fund won an award in the 'Public Servants Give to the Frontlines' category for outstanding achievements in supporting Russian servicemen on the frontlines. In total, Social Fund employees provided servicemen participating in the special military operation with supplies worth over RUB 445 million: one of the largest contributions among all Russian federal executive bodies.
Sergey Chirkov, Chairman of the Social Fund, thanked the People's Front representatives for the honor, emphasizing that the entire Fund's workforce values the award highly.
"This is not merely appreciation; it is a sign that our efforts here in the rear matter for those who are currently on the frontlines. This is a personal matter for us. Our co-workers, family members and loved ones are currently in the combat zone. We are thinking of their families constantly and surround them with care. This award and today's event are both pages of the same story of solidarity. Back at the start of the special military operation, we have defined the key objective for us: to become a rock for those who are protecting our country. Our strength lies in that unity," shared Mr. Chirkov.
As head of the Social Fund also pointed out, the Fund currently provides SMO veterans and their families with over 30 benefits. But we do not limit ourselves to officially-mandated support. Driven by their own convictions, the Social Fund staff members make camouflage nets, bunker candles and collect humanitarian aid. In total, the Social Fund staff sent and delivered to our guys in the combat zone over 161,000 bunker candles, 15,000 camouflage nets, 100,000 textile products and 320 tons of food. They also sent cars, quadrotor drones, electronic warfare stations, generators and video surveillance systems. And People's Front are our true assistants and friends in that area, Mr. Chirkov pointed out. The Social Fund's Communication Centers for Seniors are also now a bedrock of the people's rear. About a thousand of them all over Russia are now veritable volunteer centers: elderly volunteers adapt quickly to the needs of the front, sewing bed linens here, making camouflage nets or amulets there. The Fund's youth wing also makes its contribution, which is not insignificant: in three years, they collected and delivered to the front over 178 tons of supplies.
"Tangible support is but a part of the bigger picture. We have built living inter-generational links: hundreds of courage lessons, meetings with veterans of the special military operation, over a thousand public talks. The Fund's ambassadors speak in schools and universities regularly, bringing history and social responsibility closer and making it easier for young people to understand. We also care for our employees who are serving the country now. Our 'For Valor and Honor. We Are Proud' memorial badge is awarded to those who has demonstrated exceptional courage and dedication on the frontlines since 2025. Because our strength lies in unity," Mr. Chirkov concluded.
