Social Fund raised insurance and funded pensions for Russians

The Social Fund of Russia completed an application-free adjustment of insurance pensions for retirees who were employed in 2025. Old-age and disability pensions were adjusted for all individuals whom their employers paid insurance contributions for last year. Loss of breadwinner pensions were also adjusted in cases when any new funds were credited to the personal account of the person whose passing served as the grounds for the pension. The August adjustment covers employed retirees only; its amount depends on the retiree's salary: the higher it is, the bigger the pension raise will be, but not higher than three pension coefficients.

"This year, the insurance pension adjustment covered 9.3 million retirees," Sergey Chirkov, Chairman of the Social Fund, said. "Like all scheduled annual pension adjustments, the August one is automated, so retirees do not have to apply to get their new payouts." The adjusted pensions will be remitted in August as per the regular schedule. Staff of the Social Fund branches have made all preparations to adjust pension amounts beforehand, in July," pointed out Mr. Chirkov.

On top of the insurance pension hike, pension savings payouts will also increase starting August 1: both funded pensions and fixed-term pension savings. That adjustment does not depend on the retiree's employment status and is contingent on investment results instead.

Those results allowed to increase funded pensions for over 133,000 Russians by 17.3% in August. The fixed-term pension savings payments due to over 34,000 Russians grew by 19.32%.

The Social Fund also granted supplements to lump sum pension savings payouts assigned last year. These supplements are only paid to individuals with pension savings credited to their personal accounts after their lump sum payouts had been assigned. Over 105,000 individuals in total were granted the supplement.
