Parents of over 10 million children received unified allowance in six months

By mid-year, the Social Fund has paid the unified allowance to parents of 10.2 million children. The monthly support amount was RUB 9,200 to RUB 18,400 on average across Russia. Nearly 256,000 expectant mothers also received their allowance. For them, the payout was RUB 10,300 to RUB 20,600.

Large families' entitlement to the unified allowance was expanded this year. Now, parents or three or more children retain the allowance even if the family's income grew throughout the payout period, exceeding the threshold by 10% or less. The amendments were made on the order from the President supported by the United Russia party.

Remember that the unified allowance is only paid to families where parents and children are all Russian nationals and live in Russia. The allowance amount depends on the family income, standing at 50%, 75% or 100% of the subsistence minimum established for a child in the region. Allowance amounts for pregnant women are similar, but based on the subsistence minimum for an able-bodied adult.

If another child is born in a family that already receives the allowance, the Social Fund assigns the payout for that child automatically, without re-assessing the family's financial position. Its amount in that case is the same as for the other child.

Please note that the Social Fund assigns payouts based on the social treasury principle, meaning that all parents have to do is submit an application; the rest of the data is retrieved and verified by the Fund staff themselves. 98% of families get their allowances in that format now.
