The Russian Pension Fund has submitted to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection a draft of the federal law to expedite the use of maternity capital funds for repaying government-subsidized mortgage loans and the interest, including the initial down payment.

PFR Board Chairman Anton Drozdov addressed a meeting of the State Duma’s working group on the improvement of pension laws, which was held on December 5 with the participation of Deputy Labor Minister Andrey Pudov and representatives of national associations of employers and trade unions.

The federal law on electronic employment record book takes effect in Russia on January 1, 2020. Russian Pension Fund head Anton Drozdov told TASS about advantages of the electronic employment record book, the possibility to continue using paper-based employment record books, employee information to be provided by employers, and security of personal data.

There are more than 12 million disabled persons, including 680,000 children with disabilities, in Russia, and all of them receive support from the government, including benefits provided by the Pension Fund.

Representatives of the Russian Pension Fund and the Serbian Institute for Social Insurance held a series of meetings in Moscow last week. Experts of the two countries discussed the implementation of the bilateral social security agreement signed in late 2017.

As of October 1, the Russian Pension Fund had reaffirmed the right of over 1.1 million pre-retirees to social support and benefits prescribed by the new legislature. The information was directed to employers, the authorities and benefit-providing agencies or pre-retirees themselves in client services of the Pension Fund, their personal accounts or multifunctional centers.

Russian Pension Fund Board Chairman Anton Drozdov was presented with the honorary certificate “Innovations in the Development of National Pension Systems” for implementing advanced actuarial practices in the Russian pension system.

Vadim Akkuzin was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Russian Pension Fund Board by a Russian Government directive.

Russian Pension Fund Board Deputy Chairman Nikolay Kozlov has been reelected treasurer of the International Social Security Association (ISSA) for the period until 2020. The election took place on October 18 at the 38th session of the ISSA Council, which was held on the sidelines of the World Social Security Forum.

The 7th National Conference “All-Age Society” opened in Moscow today. It is held together with the forum “Russia – Territory of Care” and addresses initiatives which improve living standards of the elder generation in Russia. Speaking at the plenary session, PFR Board Chairman Anton Drozdov told the audience about a decline in the number of able-bodied citizens and the increasing burden of ageing population on the social security system.
