Russia’s Pension Fund provides payment to people with disabilities and Great Patriotic War veterans on the Victory Day
Russia’s Pension Fund provided a one-time payment to people with disabilities and Great Patriotic War veterans marking the 73rd anniversary of the Victory. The payment of 10 thousand rubles in line with the decree of Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has been already provided to 81.7 thousand veterans through the Pension Fund.
Russia’s government approves report on 2017 Pension Fund budget implementation
Russia’s government has reviewed and approved the report on the Russian Pension Fund budget implementation for 2017 at a session today. The government has agreed to forward the report to Russia’s Federal Assembly.
Many Russians are happy with the Pension Fund services
According to Your Control independent monitoring system, 97% of individuals are satisfied with public services provided by the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation. That was the amount of people who rated the services as "good" and "excellent" in all regions of the country in the first quarter of 2018. It should be noted that this customer satisfaction indicator is based on more ratings than last year: in comparison with the first quarter of 2017, the number of Pension Fund services rated by citizens increased more than twice and reached 3.3 million.
PFR Board Chairman Anton Drozdov attends all-Russia Congress of Gerontologists and Geriatricians
The Fifth all-Russia Congress of Gerontologists and Geriatricians took place in Moscow on April 19-20, 2018. Leading Russian and international experts in the field of gerontology and geriatrics, and representatives of social security services, non-profit organizations, charities, and social business entities – over 900 delegates from Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and Ukraine – attended the event. The congress addressed issues topical to gerontologists, including the current condition of the geriatric service in Russia, medical treatment of senior and geriatric citizens, detection and prevention of the cruel treatment of elderly persons, and geriatric education.
PFR Public Council holds second meeting
The Public Council of the Russian Pension Fund held its second meeting in Moscow on April 23 to address the fulfillment of the PFR’s 2017 budget, adjustments to the PFR Regulations, and norms of costs of the fulfillment of PFR duties. PFR Board members led by Board Chairman Anton Drozdov made reports on every item on the agenda and had a discussion with the Public Council members.
“Tablet Computer Basics” course added to “Internet ABC”
The “Tablet Computer Basics” course has been added to the “Internet ABC” advanced training program developed by the Russian Pension Fund and Rostelecom. The course gives a detailed description of tablet computers’ specifics, required user skills, capacities of application stores, and safe downloading of applications, and offers advice on choosing a tablet computer.
Families with low income applying for monthly payment of maternity capital funds
The Russian Pension Fund is receiving requests from families with a low income for the monthly payment of maternity capital funds. Requests are granted if the second child is either born or adopted after January 1, 2018. The mother files two requests at a time, one for the maternity capital certificate, and the other for the monthly payment. The parents may also apply for the child’s individual insurance account number (SNILS).
Social pensions increased by 2.9% on April 1
The state-provided pensions, including social ones, were increased by 2.9% starting April 1, 2018, in accordance with the pensioner’s subsistence level growth in 2017. Pensions were increased for 3.9 million pensioners, including 3.2 million recipients of social pensions.
Simultaneously with the indexation of social pensions, state-provided pensions were also increased for servicemen who did call-up military service and their family members, WWII participants, citizens affected by radiation or man-made disasters, and their family members, citizens from among flight-test personnel and some other citizens.
The social pension’s average size increased after the indexation by 255 rubles to 9,062 rubles. The average size of the social pension for children with disabilities and persons with lifelong disabilities of Category I has been increased by 378 and 382 rubles, respectively, to 13,410 and 13,556 rubles. The average size of pensions of citizens with disabilities resulting from a war injury and WWII participants who receive two pensions, increased as a result of indexation to 30,694 rubles and 35,387 rubles, respectively.

An extended meeting of the Board of the Pension Fund of Russia (PFR) was held in Moscow today. It was attended by Minister of Labor and Social Protection Maxim Topilin, Chairman of the PFR Board Anton Drozdov, representatives of the Russian Federal Assembly and the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia, managers of PFR divisions from all constituent entities of the Russian Federation, heads of structural subdivisions of the PFR Executive Directorate.
